Tamara Wenda Ashford (born December 1968) is currently a Article I Judge of the United States Tax Court and formerly the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Appellate and Review in the Tax Division at the United States Department of Justice. ==Biography==
Ashford received an A.B. degree from Duke University, a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and an LL.M. degree from University of Miami School of Law. She began her legal career as a law clerk to Judge John C. Martin of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. From 1997 to 2001, she served as an attorney with the Appellate Section of the Tax Division at the United States Department of Justice. From 2001 to 2004, she served as a senior associate at the law firm of Miller & Chevalier in Washington, D.C. From 2004 to 2007, she served as Assistant to the Commissioner of Internal Revenue. From 2008 to 2011, she served as a member of the Tax Controversy and Litigation Group at the law firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP in Washington D.C. Since 2011, she has served as the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Appellate and Review in the Tax Division at the United States Department of Justice.〔
